Our competition team is a dedicated group of dancers from our studio who train and perform together to compete in regional and national dance competitions.

Spark

• Description: This level is designed for our younger dancers who are beginning their journey in the competitive dance world. The emphasis is on building strong foundational technique, developing stage presence, and gaining valuable experience performing in front of an audience in a supportive, encouraging environment.

• Requirements:

  • ballet & tap/jazz combo class

  • 2 competitions required

Pulse ​​

• Description: Dancers at this intermediate level have usually been competing for a few years and have progressed beyond the basics. They exhibit improved technique, performance quality, and a greater understanding of different dance styles.

• Qualifications:

  • Some prior competition experience

  • Demonstrates a better grasp of core technique

• Requirements:

  • Ballet is a required class for all dancers at this level.

  • In addition to ballet, dancers may choose to enroll in tap, jazz, or both, depending on their interests and availability.

  • 2 competitions required

 

Vibe​​​​

• This level is ideal for dancers who have a solid foundation and are ready to take on more challenging skills. It’s designed for students who show commitment, focus, and a desire to grow through more complex choreography, technique, and performance opportunities.

• Qualifications:

  • Possesses a solid technical foundation, including consistent multiple pirouettes, challenging leaps and extensions, and a good understanding of body alignment and control.

  • Performances show greater dynamic range, emotional expression, and stylistic authenticity.

  • Choreography is intricate and demanding, requiring a high level of technical skill and performance maturity.​​

• Requirements:

  • Ballet is a required class for all dancers at this level.

  • In addition to ballet, dancers may choose to enroll in tap, jazz, contemporary, technique. (conditioning, leaps and turns) and acrobatics depending on their interests and availability.

Velocity

• Description: This level is for dancers who have developed strong technique and a confident stage presence. They are capable of learning and performing complex choreography with expression, control, and attention to detail. These dancers are leaders in the studio and continue to grow through dedication and passion for dance.

• Qualifications:

  • Demonstrates advanced technical skills with a high degree of execution, consistency, and control

  • Performances are marked by exceptional artistry, maturity, and the ability to command the stage.

  • Choreography is challenging, innovative, and requires a deep understanding of musicality and dynamics.

• Requirements:

  • Ballet is a required class for all dancers at this level.

  • In addition to ballet, dancers may choose to enroll in tap, jazz, contemporary, technique ( conditioning, leaps and turns) pre-pointe (after assessment) and acrobatics depending on their interests and availability.

 

 

Impact

• Description: This is the highest competitive level offered at CDP. These dancers exhibit exceptional technical virtuosity, artistic depth, and a level of performance that is nearing professional standards.

• Qualifications:​

  • Possesses a high level of mastery across multiple dance techniques.

  • Consistently executes technical elements with apparent ease and artistry.

  • Performances are highly polished, emotionally resonant, and demonstrate a unique artistic voice.

  • Choreography at this level is at the forefront of innovation and technical demand.

  • Ballet is a required class for all dancers at this level.

  • In addition to ballet, dancers may choose to enroll in tap, jazz, contemporary, technique (conditioning, leaps and turns) Pointe (after assessment) and acrobatics depending on their interests and availability.
